The 2013 annual session of IFAIT was held in theLecture Hall, JUST, on October 16. Heldby School of Computer Science and Engineering, this forum was one of theimportant academic series held to celebrate the 80th anniversary of JUST. Thisforum brought together 23 experts and scholars in computer science fromAustralia, the Netherlands, Sweden, Portugal, Japan, Britain and China, sharinga academic feast. Party Secretary Wang Jianhua attended the opening ceremonyand addressed the conference. Those who attended the Forum included leadersfrom the President Office, Office of Science and Technology, Human Resources Officeand Chief Accountant Office,together with the teachers and students from Schoolof Computer Science and Engineering. Professor Huang Zhisheng, honorary professor, and Mr. Wang Zhi, Party Secretary of Schoolof Computer Science and Engineering, co- hosted this forum.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Wang Jianhua, PartySecretary of JUST, delivered the welcome address. He said that JUST, establishedin 1933, had become a comprehensive university with unique academic advantagesafter 80 years’ development. IFAIT, 2013, coincided with the 80th anniversaryof JUST and became an academic feast gathering the top researchers in the fieldof computer science. He noted that the arrival of the experts would add gloryto the celebration. The experts communicated with each other and enthusiasticallydiscussed the latest developments in information technology. He also hoped thatthis forum would build a bridge for further communication and cooperation.
It was reported that 14 Chinese and foreign expertsand scholars delivered conference addresses. They came from someinternationally renowned universities, like Oxford University and Aberdeen Universityin Britain, University of Dalarna in Sweden, University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands,Qinghua University, Zhejiang University, Southeast University, Wuhan Universityand some other universities in China. The topic covered quite a few aspects ininformation technology. They go roughly to this effect: big data processing andapplication of semantic technology, which would have a far-reaching effect onthe further development of programs like Computer Science, Information Science,etc…. On behalf of JUST, Associate Professor Liu Qinghua from the Institute of IntelligenceTransportation System, School of Computer Science and Engineering, delivered a speech for exchange.
