       Formerly known as Department of Management Engineering and established in 1979, the School was renamed as it is in 2002.
         The School has four departments: Business Administration,  Economics, Accounting and Information Management; one laboratory center,  which has four laboratories: Information Management and Shadow Factory,  Industrial Engineering, Logistics and Management and Accounting; two  research institutes, one logistics institute, one enterprise development  institute, one book and information center, one scientific research  company: Jin Zhou Software Company.
         The School has one first-level discipline of doctoral  degree-authorization in management science and engineering, two  first-level discipline of master degree-authorization in management  science and engineering and business administration. The School also has  MBA, MPAcc and master-degree authorization in industrial engineering  and project management. Besides, the School has ten undergraduate  majors: information management and information system, industrial  engineering, accounting, business administration, logistics management,  accounting management, economics, information management and information  system(e-marketing), finance engineering and business administration(a  program with an Australian university)
         The School has 104 employees, among whom 5 are supervisors of  master degrees, 20  professors(including those who work in the  university administrations), 47 associate professors, 49 lecturers and  43 doctorate holders (including those who work in university  administrations)
         The School has more than 2,000 undergraduates, 300 doctoral and  master degree students and 200 master degree students of engineering.  The School has conducted more than 60 terms of training for factory  managers and chief accountants in China’s shipbuilding companies. More  than 4,000 candidate managers have graduated, for which the School won  the honorable title of  “Cradle for Managers in China’s Shipbuilding  Industry”.
         To inherit the historical achievements and create a future of  reforms, the School will keep up with the times, continue with the  reforms and take it as its mission to train talents with creativity and  capability in economics and management so to usher in a brighter future.
