Three Specialties of Zhenjiang
Common sense tells people that a well-known city features tasty food. The legend of Zhenjiang’s “Three Specialties” is quite an ancient and attractive one: “Vinegar never goes bad as time goes on; Xiao Rou (Pressed pork cubes) don’t serve as a dish; A wooden lid is boiled in a pot with noodles”. Poem has it that “One who fails to reach the Great Wall is not a hero; one who doesn’t taste the Zhenjiang specialties will only have to regret in woe.”
