March 17 Update: No New Confirmed Case Reported in Jiangsu

Between 00:00 and 24:00, March 16, no new confirmed case of COVID-19 was reported in Jiangsu.

As of 24:00, March 16, 631 cases have been reported in Jiangsu accumulatively, 93 of which were in Nanjing, 55 in Wuxi, 79 in Xuzhou, 51 in Changzhou, 87 in Suzhou, 40 in Nantong, 48 in Lianyungang, 66 in Huai’an, 27 in Yancheng, 23 in Yangzhou, 12 in Zhenjiang, 37 in Taizhou, and 13 in Suqian.631 cases have been cured and discharged from hospital in cumulative terms.

Of the traced 12,652 close contacts, 14 are still under medical quarantine and 12,638 have been released.

Experts note that all the confirmed cases having been discharged from hospital does not imply zero risk. Given the grave situation of the pandemic overseas, we must follow through our work as we have started with the focus on preventing imported cases by staying alert to the disease and keeping stringent containment measures to ensure no resurgence at home.

It is still necessary for the public to keep precautions in place; develop good hygiene habits including wearing a mask and washing hands frequently; follow proper cough etiquette; ventilate and clean homes and offices every day; and reduce group gathering. By doing so, infection risks will be effectively lowered.

Appointment is required for receiving diagnosis and treatment in all secondary and tertiary hospitals across the province. In order to reduce crowd gathering and shorten waiting time at hospitals, you are suggested to make an appointment with your doctor through multiple channels, including the internet, smartphone APPs, telephone call, SMS and self-service machines at hospitals.

2020年3月16日0時から24時までの間、江蘇省で新型コロナウイルス肺炎(COVID-19)の新規患者数がゼロであるという。

3月16日24時までの時点で、江蘇省では新型コロナウイルス肺炎の患者数は計631人と確認され、都市別には、南京市が93人、無錫市が55人、徐州市が79人、常州市が51人、蘇州市が87人、南通市が40人、連雲港市が48人、淮安市が66人、塩城市が27人、揚州市が23人、鎮江市が12人、泰州市が37人、宿遷市13人という。全治して退院した人が631人にのぼるという。

これまで江蘇省では12652人の濃厚接触者が確認されたうち、12638人が健康観察から解除された一方、14人が医学的観察を受けているところだという。

専門家からの注意喚起は次の通りである。今現在、江蘇省内の入院患者数はゼロであるが、感染リスクがゼロになったことではない。世界各地で感染が拡大する中、一貫して警戒感を保ち、予防と抑制への要求を下げずに症例の輸入及び感染の再拡大を防ぐよう緩めずに取り組んでいくべきである。

引き続き普段からの個人的な予防対策が求められる。常に感染予防意識で良好な衛生習慣を心がけること。具体的には、マスクの着用、こまめな手洗い、咳エチケット、日常の換気・清掃、人混みへの控えること等によって、感染リスクの効果的な引き下げにつながるという。
