On October 25th, a delegation led by Konstantin Grigorichev, Vice President of Irkutsk State University, made a friendly visit to our university. Zhou Honggen, Member of the Standing Committee of CPC JUST Committee and Vice President of JUST, met with the guests. Relevant leaders of the International Office and the School of Foreign Languages attended the meeting, which was presided over by Wang Yuxin, Director of the International Office of JUST.

Vice President Zhou Honggen, on behalf of JUST, extended a cordial and enthusiastic welcome to the visiting delegation from Irkutsk State University and expressed gratitude to Vice President Konstantin Grigorichev for leading the delegation to our university. During the meeting, Vice President Zhou provided a detailed introduction of our university’s basic information and distinctive educational features, comprehensively outlining the cooperation efforts between the two universities in joint cultivation, mutual exchanges, and scientific research cooperation. In particular, he affirmed the outstanding achievements of the “3+1+1” inter-university cooperation program which has been actively carried out by the School of Foreign Languages of both universities. He emphasized that based on the existing cooperation between JUST and Irkutsk State University, the two universities should join hands to advance together and further deepen international cooperation and exchanges. This would promote their partnership to a higher level of depth and quality, thereby injecting new vitality into the development of both universities.

Vice President Konstantin Grigorichev expressed his heartfelt gratitude for JUST’s warm reception. He introduced the basic information of Irkutsk State University, hoping to further expand and strengthen the cooperation between the two universities in the fields of teaching and scientific research on the basis of the existing cooperation projects.

Afterward, the delegation proceeded to the School of Foreign Languages for exchanges for in-depth discussions centered around the theme of “Deepening Cooperation, Joint Development.” This exchange aimed to further expand the scope of cooperation between the two universities in the field of foreign languages, especially in terms of the integration and exchanges of Russian and English majors.

Zeng Jingting, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, briefly introduced the department composition of the school, the construction of research centers, the level of the teaching staff, as well as the learning achievements and employment status of the students. She stated that the School of Foreign Languages had established a mature cooperation model for cultivating Russian majors. Especially in the “3+1+1” Russian specialized master’s program, the cooperation between both sides has achieved remarkable results.

Vice President Konstantin Grigorichev introduced the current development status and existing international cooperation projects of the School of Foreign Languages at Irkutsk State University. He pointed out that in recent years, the cooperation between the two universities in the field of Russian major has achieved positive results, hoping to expand the cooperation scope to the English major.

The visit of the delegation to our university would not only enhance the cooperation between the two universities in the field of international education but also builds a good exchange platform for students and faculty. It is believed that with the joint efforts of both universities, the cooperation will surely achieve more fruitful results and make new contributions to promoting the prosperity and development of Sino-Russian educational undertakings.
